Internal investigations

Independent investigation of suspicions and irregularities

An internal investigation must establish what actually happened, in a way that holds up for employment decisions and any further handling. That requires method, documentation and an independence an internal manager rarely has.

Northseq investigates irregularities, rule breaches, misconduct and internal incidents, drawing on experience from police and corporate security work.

When is it needed?

  • On suspicion of financial irregularities or theft
  • In harassment or serious conflict cases
  • On breaches of internal rules, confidentiality or conflict-of-interest policy
  • On information leaks or suspected insider behaviour
  • When impartiality is essential

How it works

  1. 01

    Mandate

We frame the question, the scope and what the investigation must answer.

  2. 02

    Evidence

We secure documents, logs and other material before it changes.

  3. 03

    Interviews

We hold structured interviews using a documented method.

  4. 04

    Conclusion

We deliver a report with observations, assessment and recommendations.

Fairness in practice

The person under investigation must know what it concerns and be able to respond. Without that, neither the conclusion nor any subsequent decision holds.

We clearly separate observations, assessment and recommendation so decision-makers can see what is evidence and what is conclusion.

After the investigation

The report is rarely the end. We recommend measures, routines and follow-up that reduce the risk of recurrence.

Where needed we support the employer in further handling, communication and contact with authorities.

What you get

  • An independent investigation with documented method
  • Secured evidence and interview documentation
  • A report with observations and assessment
  • Recommendations for measures and follow-up
  • Support in the continued handling
